WHY IT MATTERS
Community Health & Youth Safety at Stake
On behalf of the PBCBHC’s Underage Drinking Taskforce, we would like to thank you for your interest in keeping our kids safe and sober. Two of the major problems we face when trying to reduce underage drinking in Palm Beach County are:
1. Easy access to alcohol, and…
2. Attitudes and beliefs of teens and adults.
The 877-MEANS-21 tip line was set up to help our community overcome both of these obstacles. By reporting anyone who buys for, sells to, or provides alcohol to those under 21, we are sending a message to the community that underage drinking and the costly consequences that come with it will not be tolerated.
HOW IT WORKS
Simple & Secure Reporting
Reporting underage alcohol access is quick, anonymous, and effective. Just call or text 877‑MEANS‑21 to share details. Your tip helps reduce youth access to alcohol and keeps our community safer.

WHERE TEENS CHOOSE TO DRINK
Understand the Risks
If you allow underage drinking in your home, you’re not only breaking the law, but doing damage to the developing brain of your child and his or her friends. These are the most common places teens drink:
- At someone else’s home: 36.1%
- At their own home: 35.8%
- Clubs or restaurants: 10.6%
- Public places or events: 4–12%
Understanding where teens are most likely to drink helps us prevent it from happening.
ABOUT US
A Community Tool to Prevent Underage Drinking
Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition was created to give parents and youths the tools to live drug, alcohol and tobacco free.
By bringing together local educators, substance abuse professionals, law enforcement administrators, and business leaders, we coordinate activities, provide information, and organize public awareness campaigns to steer youths and adults away from harmful substances. Since 2002, our coalition has coordinated Palm Beach County’s efforts to keep our communities healthy, safe and drug-free.
877-MEANS-21 is a confidential hotline and text line, managed by PBCBHC’s Underage Drinking Taskforce. It’s designed for residents to report anyone buying or providing alcohol to individuals under 21. Together, we send a message that underage drinking won’t be tolerated.
